Founded in 1993 by Claudia Rudolf Barrett, and located in northeast Cincinnati, our school provides students with the opportunity to develop performance skills and activities that are essential to the growth of a professional dancer.
Hear From Our Founder
Hear from Claudia Rudolf Barrett about her vision for ballet tech® of ohio, and how her career has helped shaped the lives of numerous professional dancers.
At BTO, we offer classes for students as young as 2 years-old. Our Musical Movement and Movement Discovery classes help children through age 4 develop coordination and control of gross motor skills, rhythm, direction, and flexibility. For children 5-6 years-old, our Pre-Ballet class teaches basic ballet positions, cognitive skills, stretch, balance, and coordination.
Our intermediate ballet options bridge the time between a beginning student and our pre-professional levels. Ballet 1, Ballet 2, and Ballet 3 classes gradually increase in complexity of technique, focus, coordination of arms and head, and demand for muscular control and stamina. These classes typically instruct students between the ages of 6 and 11 years-old.
Our Pre-Professional 1 and Pre-Professional 2 classes are designed to guide a dancer into the skills necessary for a professional career. PP1 instructs dancers age 11-13, including beginning and intermediate pointe work. PP2, for students 13 years of age and older, includes point work, variations, and pas de deux. We also instruct in modern dance.
ADULT & MORE
Our teen/adult classes provide older students the opportunity to learn and enjoy dance, while not pursuing an advanced level or professional career. Additionally, our modern and tap classes provide students of all ages the opportunity to become well rounded dancers, even as they may focus the majority of their time studying classical ballet.
